Big decisions for the rest of the year…
After a lot of thought and for a number of different reasons, I’ve decided that I’ll continue with Fox Fencing & Landscaping until the end of this year, before making a final decision about the future of the business.
Running a small business isn’t easy. Every week can feel like a battle to provide a high-quality service, look after customers, keep on top of costs and still earn a fair profit. With rising costs and increasing pressures on small businesses, it feels like it’s becoming harder and harder to make it all work.
One thing I won’t do is provide a highly skilled, quality service for a basic wage. I price my work fairly and, for the standard and outcome I aim to deliver, I genuinely believe my prices are more than reasonable. The physical and mental toll of running a business can sometimes make you stop and ask yourself: is all the stress actually worth it?
I will continue working hard and taking on projects until the end of the year, as I always have. But if things don’t improve moving into 2027, then Fox Fencing & Landscaping may come to an end and it could be time for a new beginning and a different direction.
This isn’t a decision I’m taking lightly, and I want to thank every customer who has supported me and the business along the way.
At the end of the day, health and wellbeing are more important than anything, and sometimes you have to make difficult decisions for the right reasons.
Here’s to seeing what the rest of the year brings. 🦊🧡🖤
