Matt’s feeling pretty smug with himself today, so please allow him a little humble brag. 😎

He bagged Glastonbury tickets this morning, apparently his hands shaking like a leaf putting in the card details, first card blocked by the bank, heart nearly stopped, but managed with the second card. Whoop whoop. 🙌

Thankfully, our super-fast full-fibre internet at SGS was up to the job when it really mattered. 😂⚡️

Following the excitement of the ticket-buying frenzy, he knocked out his longest run (21 miles) in about 4 years, and final long run ahead of the Yorkshire Marathon in a couple of weeks.

Now his day’s come crashing back to reality as he’s stuck in the office catching up on work ahead of next week.

But, he decided to celebrate the day’s accomplishments by cracking on the outside lights for the first time this year in the beautiful sunset this evening. ✨🌅

Matt’s been moved upstairs so we can accommodate a lovely team downstairs for a big meeting, complete with breakfast and lunch courtesy of our good friends up at the Towngate Tearooms. ☕🥐🥪

We had a bit of a drama a couple of weeks ago after Google pulled our business listing, citing that our business “didn’t exist”! 😳

It was especially frustrating as we’d only just received two brilliant reviews from a couple of our new dedicated desk members. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thankfully, after pulling together a comprehensive case to prove we are in fact a legitimate business 😂, our listing came back online 10 days later. 🙌

We really value our reviews, and we’re so grateful — and genuinely humbled — by some of the lovely messages we get from our office users. ❤️

And BTW, in case you were wondering if the rumours were true about Matt constantly making everyone tea and coffee…

Yes. 100%. ☕️😂

He says it’s because he normally makes back-to-back teas and coffees for himself throughout the day and feels bad not offering. So there you go — the host with the most! 😂

Hello everyone! 👋 It’s been a while, hasn’t it?!

You’ll be glad to hear that both Natalie and I survived the summer holidays and had loads of fun with the family! ☀️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

We did, however, return to work with LOADS to do, so we’ve both been snowed under ever since — hence the lack of comms! 😅

We did manage to make time to pull this little exciting announcement together, though… 👀 And we’re really excited about it! It’s been in the works for a while now, but things have finally started to gain some traction. 🚀

We’ve got an exciting collaboration on the horizon which means that, very soon, we’ll be offering our space for content shoots and AV/podcast recording 🎥🎙️

We’re still working through the details, but the plan is to offer a variety of packages, including space and equipment hire, engineer/technical support and post-production, along with a number of fully configurable environments to suit different types of shoots and recordings. 🎬

Well done England! You did amazingly to achieve what you did and reach the semis.

Trying to explain to my boys this is the 10th time I've experienced this, and this is the best we've done. It's a hard and humble pill to swallow, but we did our best.

Just having a tidy up before everyone arrives this morning, with the doors and windows open to let this lovely summer breeze blow through. ☀️🍃

One of the benefits of these thick stone walls is that they keep the building relatively cool, despite the temperature outside. It's only after a few consecutive days (and nights!) of hot weather that things start to warm up indoors. Plus, we're nicely tucked away, so we only get direct sunlight for the first few hours of the day. 🪨❄️

Anyway, lots to do! I'm going to enjoy this inside-outside kind of vibe while getting to work, ploughing through emails and getting on top of the week ahead. ☕️💻

🧊☕ In our continued effort to stay cool and caffeinated, we decided to give cold brew a go.

Today was our first batch and trial run, and we're pleased to report it went down a storm! The only downside? There simply wasn't enough. 😅

The recipe called for 100g of coffee, but we only had 55g left kicking around, so it probably wasn't quite as strong as it should have been. That said, it was still incredibly delicious. 👌

We'll be refining our technique (and buying more coffee! ☕) over the weekend so we've got plenty ready for next week. It might not be quite as hot according to the forecast, but we don't think that's a good enough reason to stop the cold brew party!

🎂🎉 Well, somehow we've made it to our first birthday!

A year ago today we opened the doors to Spring Grove Stables as a coworking and meeting space, and we genuinely can't believe how quickly the time has passed.

What started as a slightly ambitious idea during a renovation project has become something we're incredibly proud of. Over the last 12 months we've welcomed freelancers, remote workers, therapists, coaches, local businesses, community groups and plenty of curious visitors through our doors. Every booking, every conversation and every bit of support has helped shape what Spring Grove Stables is today. 🌿

There was definitely a fair amount of uncertainty when we started out. Would people come? Would they like the space? Could we make it work? Thankfully, the answer has been a resounding yes, and that's entirely down to the amazing people who've chosen to spend time here.

So a huge thank you to everyone who's booked a desk, hired a meeting room, attended an event, recommended us to a friend, or simply stopped by for a chat. We really do appreciate every one of you. 🙏

It's been an entertaining, rewarding and occasionally surprising first year, and we're excited to see what year two has in store.

In the meantime, it's absolutely roasting outside, so we've filled the freezer with ice lollies and we're celebrating in the only sensible way possible. 🍦☀️

New outdoor work and chill spaces unlocked. 🌿☀️

We were rushing to get our benches installed during the last heatwave, then they arrived on the final day — and it didn't stop raining.

So we made sure they were out and ready as soon as the weather dried up, and perfectly timed for this lovely spell of sunshine.

Whether you fancy breakfast, lunch, or a coffee in the fresh air, or you want to feel the breeze and listen to the birds while you take a call — they're good to go. 🐦☕

Oh, and did we mention? You're still getting 300mbps full-fibre internet out there — surrounded by a river, birdsong, and nestled right in the bottom of the Calder Valley. Not a bad office setup. 💻🌿
