It would appear the app made the council page... quick the app has been running for 6 months and I'm going to assume the poster hasn't looked at it as it clearly says not affiliated with the council, in there defence they probably had to field some calls at the start of the month when the app was displaying wrong but hopefully that's sorted now.. MORE importantly if any one has concerns or questions about the app like. Why do you have ads?, How much money are you generating from the app?, Do you use my data?, Is the app safe?, how do you get the information?, is it legal? Why did you make a Bin app? Feel free to ask, In fact let's answer that last one I made the app to learn how to make apps it was my first I live in Helensburgh and i forgot to put the bins out three weeks in a row so I challenged my self make the app...and yes even with the app I still forget to put the bins out but now I have no excuse to use πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Assisted bin collections
Did you know that the council can provide an assisted bin collection service if you are not able to put your wheelie bin out for collection yourself? (for example because of mobility problems or illness).

You can apply for an assisted collection if you have no other member of your household who is able to help, and you are not able to put out your bins yourself because of a mobility problem or illness.

To apply for help with your bin collection:

fill in the councils online form
Or call them on 01546 605514
or email [email protected] and an application form will be sent out to you.

Points to Remember
DO make sure your bin is available on your designated bin collection day, by the time stated for your area. Bin collection times may vary due to operational changes. However, we will try to catch up as soon as possible.

DO make sure the lid is fully closed with the handle facing towards the kerb.

DO make sure your bin is returned to your property after rubbish collection.

DO mark all your bins (waste and recycling) with your house name /number using a waterproof pen, paint or stickers. That way we know which bins need to be lifted and you know which bin to take back to your property.
DO maintain access to your street on collection day. If access to your bin is impossible, we will be unable to empty it.

DO use the kerbside recycling collection services where available or take recyclables to a recycling site.

DO compost your garden waste at home or take it to a recycling and civic amenity site.

DO use our chargeable special uplift service for items not suitable for your wheelie bin. Restrictions apply so please fill in our online request form or contact 01546 605514 for advice.

DON'T put batteries of any type in your bin. Household batteries are accepted at your local household recycling centre and some shops. Lithium-ion batteries, the sort you find in laptops, tablets and other gadgets, should be removed from your unwanted device if possible and deposited alongside WEEE items at your recycling centre.

DON'T place hot ashes in your bin.

DON'T leave your bin permanently on the footpath

DON'T pack it too tightly.

DON'T leave bungee cords or straps on your bin when you put them out on bin day.

DON'T leave excess waste beside it. Waste presented for collection should be contained only in the wheeled bin with the lid fully closed. EXCESS WASTE WILL NOT BE
