People buying flats in buildings lower than 18m (59ft) in England will no longer have to provide safety details on external walls to get a mortgage, as the government has finally reversed the rules. Many buyers and sellers had been greatly inconvenienced by these rules, making flats essentially unsellable and restricting property supply in a time when buyer demand is sky-high. The decision should result in a flat selling resurgence.
