What a transformation 🤩 this renovation has completely changed the feel of the back of this 1940’s bungalow, taking those old draughty timber windows & replacing for a modern uPVC, finished off with new MDF window boards ready for plastering & paint.

Throwback to August 2025 with my old man helping me out on a rather large set of patio doors.. this property was in desperate need for a new updated set of doors as the previous set had blown glass, faulty hinges and generally installed poorly allowing water ingress.

Back again at a repeat customers kitchen, this time removing the old timber frame with 4mm float & a tiny top sash window which wasn’t holding the heat in, or keeping the cold out!

A suitable uPVC replacement, Satin obscure glass to the usual standard A rated & eco, opting for a bottom open sash this time for ease of access, and a new clean & tidy window board internally to finish 👌🏼

Big transformation on this property, the old crittal window had been boarded over internally, externally the brickwork had crumbled and was actually much smaller than the existing arched brickwork!

Task - cut the brickwork & install a modern uPVC window, including usable shelf space with a clean window board internally, a bottom open sash to allow ventilation above the oven 🥘 and some privacy from the neighbouring property utilising Satin obscure A rated eco glass. 👌🏼

All brickwork repaired and colour matched, internally boarded and skimmed and finished with an artex to blend in with the rest of the kitchen!

What a transformation! This old door has served this house many life times, but it was finally due a replacement.. and it was only fitting that I changed this door, as I am the reason the original door had no glass left!! Sorry parents 😅🤣.. dad’s offered to touch up the plaster, wants to be involved!
A lovely mouse grey slab, slam shut with an escutcheon finger pull set up, high security lock & thumb turn inside, and a near little knocker/spy hole combination.

Back again with another composite door transformation, the original timber served a purpose but the years had taken their toll and the timber had started to rot!

Given the nature of the location & footfall a composite door was the best option for longevity!
