ESB Connections Received – Ballyduff, Co. Kerry ⚡🏡

We are delighted to confirm that ESB connection offers have been received for a new development in Ballyduff, Co. Kerry - covering both proposed dwellings, with no public infrastructure upgrades required.

As part of the process, OCON Projects:
• Completed the required mapping and documentation
• Issued the site layout for coordination
• Worked with the appointed electrical engineer on load assessments
• Liaised directly with the ESB coordinator throughout the process

Vacant Property Grant Approved - Castleisland, Co. Kerry 🏡✅

We are delighted to have secured another Vacant Property Grant approval, this time for a property in Castleisland 👏

The applicant can now avail of €50,000 in funding to bring the dwelling back up to standard after being vacant for over 24 months - transforming it into a warm and comfortable home once again.

As part of the process, OCON Projects:
• Arranged contractor quotations
• Prepared the drawings and application for Exempted Development
• Secured approval from Kerry County Council ✅

Another great result and another vacant property on its way back to life.

Following the recent expansion of the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant, Kerry County Council will hold a series of information evenings for property owners across the county over the coming weeks.

The first information evening takes place:

Information sessions in Kerry on the Vacant Property Grants!

EXPANSION OF VACANT REFURBISHMENT GRANT

Following the recent announcement by the Department of Housing of the expansion of the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant, Kerry County Council will hold a series of information evenings for property owners across the county over the coming weeks.

The Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant was introduced in 2022 with grant amounts of up to €50,000 for a vacant property and €70,000 for a derelict property. The scheme has supported bringing vacant and derelict properties back into use and remains available for a single dwelling.

The newly expanded scheme includes three additional elements:

• Vacant Above the Shop Grant – funding of up to €135,000 (contingent on the number of units) to bring above the shop vacant spaces into residential usage

• Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant – conversion of former commercial or public use buildings – funding of up to €110,000

• Expert Advice Grant – funding of up to €5,000 towards professional advice to convert above the shop/former commercial/public-use buildings to residential

The Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council, Cllr Michael said the expanded scheme offered many opportunities for the owners of vacant properties and he urged members of the public to attend the forthcoming information evenings.

Members of staff from Kerry County Council’s Vacant Homes Office will be available to assist with queries from members of the public and to advise on the application process. More information is also available on www.kerrycoco.ie
