January has been a cold, wet and windy month but Westley Court staff and owners have been busy. Our xmas celebrations - party, Mulled wine and mince pies, films- seem a long time ago but a thank you to our housekeeping staff for putting up our decorations and Christmas trees and for then taking them down and packing away.
The grounds have withstood the wind with only a few branches damaged. The canal has frozen over, our night porters have been out with the gritter on frosty nights to keep paths clear and the fish decided to stay at the bottom of the pond instead of coming up for their food as usual on the really cold days. On the plus side the frosts have given lots of photo opportunities to our owners. We will have to wait until spring arrives to see whether all the shrubs have survived.
The social team have provided us with a diverse entertainment programme - monthly breakfast club, talk from Wolverley Historical Society, bingo, film night. One of our owners had a significant birthday and invited her friends from Westley Court to join her and her family celebrations in a party in the lounge
