# THE OPEN IS COMING HOME TO ST ANDREWS — COULD YOUR HOME PAY FOR YOUR HOLIDAY?

When The Open returns to the Home of Golf, thousands of visitors, golfers, families, media and hospitality guests will descend on St Andrews and the surrounding area.

Fife Council has introduced **Temporary Short-Term Let Exemptions specifically for The Open 2027**, allowing eligible homeowners to offer their property as short-term accommodation for a limited period without applying for a full STL licence.
Applications are currently being accepted **until 4 October 2026**, and Fife Council advises that applications can take up to six months to process — so now is the time to act.
