Inside two iconic sea forts that are now luxury hotels
Two luxuriously redeveloped sea forts could be all yours, but you’ll need a boat or helicopter to reach them…
Spitbank Fort (nine bedrooms) and No Man’s Fort (23 bedrooms) are two Victorian-era sea forts that have been transformed into luxury hotels.
The 19th century structures were originally built more than 150 years ago to repel the threat of a French invasion, but now boast multiple bars, rooftop terraces, a lighthouse, a restaurant, a helipad and a spa.
The iconic forts are on the market for more than £8 million combined, and both offer stunning views across the south coast of England.
The incredible aerial picture below shows just how isolated the forts really are.
The former military bases stand proud with the shimmering sea surrounding them, and the city of Portsmouth is just a short helicopter flight away.

Is this the narrowest house in the UK?
If you enjoy a morning stretch when you get out of bed you’ll have to do it very precisely at this London townhouse – because it’s only 6ft wide!
The two-bedroom terraced house in Shepherds Bush is said to be the narrowest house in the capital, with the living spaces stacked on top of each other inside the property’s five floors.
We don’t know for sure if this place is the narrowest home in the country, but it’s certainly a contender!
The former hat shop is up for sale for almost £1million, but despite its size, this gem of a property boasts a wonderful roof terrace that offers incredible views over West London.
The house offers deceptively flexible living accommodation and manages to squeeze plenty of character into all its intriguing nooks and crannies.
However, the main bedroom is accessed via a loft hatch of sorts, so you’ll need to be extra careful when climbing into bed after a few weekend cocktails.
