When we renovated our home in Revell Road a few years back we uncovered a piece of history. What I’ve come to learn is that ‘Anderson Bomb Shelters’ were prevalent across London during the war. The one on our property was completely caved in so we did not restore it, but we did save a piece of the 77 year old corrugated metal. And with 447 bombs being dropped on Kingston alone during a two year period, we have an appreciation on why neighbours banded together to buy shared shelters. Here’s to life and here’s to the end of wars
