🏡 Furnished or unfurnished? - It's one of the questions we're asked a lot by new landlords.
The answer depends on the property type, location and target tenant, but for most rental properties, as we typically see higher demand for unfurnished properties, and lower ongoing costs due to less maintenance/ replacement of items between tenancies.
Although the opposite can often be true when selling a property. Beautifully furnished or professionally staged homes can help buyers visualise how a space could be used and create a stronger emotional connection with the property.
With rentals, however, tenants are often looking for a home they can move into quickly and make their own. Many already have furniture from a previous tenancy, meaning an empty property can appeal to a wider audience.
