LAYERS OUT OUT!! 💃 🪩 🕺

We had a fabulous night out recently being one of the supporting sponsors at the Sutcliffe Charity Ball at the Titanic Hotel!

What a fantastic night we had! Huge thank you to the Sutcliffe team for such a wonderful evening! Super congrats are in order to all of the Sutcliffe Team for raising £110,000 for three Liverpool NHS charities! That’s how you do it! 🥂

TEAM LAYER HAVE DONE IT AGAIN 👏

You guys asked so we’ve delivered! I need to shout about this as our team at Layer are constantly going the extra mile and this week is NO EXCEPTION!👇

This is an example of a complicated drainage system at a primary school in the southwest. Some of the complicating factors were that it is a sensitive site, being a school, so there were access restriction, and photography was limited. Despite the restrictions we still managed to survey 95% of the system. We also added it to a supplied topographical background drawing which was verified on site by our measured survey team, to confirm the positions and levels of manhole chambers and access points.

The CCTV survey consisted of 125 lines, and we produced 44 manhole cards, included within the cost of the survey. Our survey teams were on site with our jet vac for 5 days, and we turned the report around within 10 working days.

Out on site this week carrying out utility and ground investigation surveys in the countryside using our GPR equipment to help identify and map underground services safely and accurately before works begin. 🔴🟡🟢🔵

These surveys are a vital part of reducing risk on site, improving planning accuracy, and ensuring projects can move forward with confidence. Great to see the team out covering ground in all weather conditions and delivering high-quality survey data for our clients.

We’re also pleased to introduce the newest member of the LAYER SURVEYS LTD team… our unexpected site assistant 🐈
While health & safety training is still ongoing, morale support and quality control inspections are already proving excellent.🤝

For completing - Star Trekk 2026! 🏆

Since its launch Star Trekk has become a tradition within the community of Southport. Bringing people together to celebrate life, honour loved ones and raise vital funds for queenscourt hospice.

Star Trekk is a 10k sponsored night walk which took place - Friday 8th May 2026 around Southport. Mike has completed the 10k walk with his son, his family & his friends! They’ve raised so much money already but if anyone can donate any more it would be wonderful!

Well done Mike! ⭐

Not very often we have 11 various surveying teams all within 3 miles of each other!

Yesterday Layer took over the city of Manchester carrying out a variety of Surveys.

These included:

- Topographical surveys
- Laser scanning and measured building surveys
- Culvert surveys
- PAS 128 surveys
- Standard drainage investigation surveys
- De silting

So this time the city of Manchester isn’t just blue and red; it’s also green and yellow!

We’ve had a busy start to the week at Layer! Our MD Darren has been on-site organising planning and getting his hands dirty. We’re a tight-knit team at Layer and everyone pitches in where they can, even the directors!

We’ve also been working nights in the famous ornate entrance of Manchester’s finest Chinatown.

Here’s some interesting trivia:

✅ The entrance was an official gift from Beijing to Manchester’s Chinese community.
✅ It was built in China and shipped to Manchester in three separate parts.
✅ It was assembled and completed in 1987!
✅ It’s also the only one of its kind in Europe.
