This is frustrating, but probably not a surprise that there is a delay to domestic EPC reforms.

To launch it from October this year was always going to be a bit optimistic, so this delay is sensible and will help ensure that the whole industry is ready to go and fully trained at the right time.

For more information regarding EPC reforms, please click on the link in the post below ⬇️

The Government has taken the decision to delay the implementation of reformed domestic EPCs in England and Wales until the second half of 2027.

The decision follows engagement with industry on the delivery timeline. The government will work with industry and the devolved administrations to agree a new launch date and shared implementation plan this summer.

We will keep members updated as more information is made available.

It was a great opportunity to learn more about the Warm Homes Plan, upcoming EPC Reforms, and to hear more about the changes coming to the MEES regulations and the impact all these important policy updates will have on the industry.

On 6th October 2025, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) launched two consultations aimed at improving how homes are bought and sold. These consultations closed on the 31st December 2025 and Elmhurst were pleased to submit responses on behalf of our members >

As we kick off the new year, it is a good moment to take stock of where the industry stands on the transition from SAP to the new Home Energy Model (HEM), and from RdSAP toward what the market is informally calling “RdHEM” >
