We’re delighted to announce that Flutter Shutter is now officially approved by Department for Energy Security and Net Zero for installation under key government-funded retrofit programmes, helping housing providers and eligible households improve energy efficiency, reduce fuel bills and enhance comfort.

All of our shutters are bespoke, tailor fit to the property to be installed within and designed to be visually pleasing alongside their effectiveness as a thermal barrier. We believe that energy efficiency retrofit can be more than just an energy saving effort. It can be genuinely beautiful as well!

Flutter Shutter, working alongside Livv Housing Group, has installed our secondary glazing window technology into dozens of homes in the Northwest. Already showing improvements in energy usage, efficiency, and yearly household bills.

With hundreds of listed buildings at risk currently, and thousands more predicted to be at risk in the coming years, protecting these ailing structures is an important aspect of our mission.

Due to the nature of preservation efforts and conservation areas, it can be very difficult to carry out works that improve the long-term health of these properties.

Often requiring:
- Extensive planning permission that requires an expensive process and a multi-year lead on from the initial proposal as the planned works are considered.
- A specialist in renovation works pertaining to listed buildings/historic sites, who is frequently in high demand due to the rarity of the specific skillset
- Unique measures that can often be denied due to the potential damage or complications that come from installing them in older properties

Measures such as our own secondary glazing window technology can help ensure that these energy-inefficient buildings survive for years to come. As is often the case, Flutter Shutter can be installed without significant delays due to planning and risk assessment considerations.
