🎷⭐ LEYTON LEGENDS ⭐🥁

Leyton Legends is our new series where we shine a light on some of the famous names connected to the area.

First up is Kenny Clare, one of Britain’s finest jazz drummers, born in Leytonstone. 🎶

He lived on Richmond Road from 1953 to 1957, and there’s a blue plaque marking the spot at number 105, installed on 4 November 2015. 🔵🏠

Kenny played alongside some absolute icons, including Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, and Johnny Dankworth, and he spent decades working across radio, television, film, and live performance. 🎤🎺📻

Next time you’re passing through Leytonstone, take a moment to look up and spot the plaque. 👀📍
