What ambitions do we have for our merchants?

SSV SmartPay was our first initiative, which launched in 2023. It is our unique solution that allows shoppers to make payments, and businesses and charities to receive payments, using a unique QR payment solution, both in-store and online.

Now an established player in the open banking market, SSV SmartPay is faster than cash and cheaper than cards for both businesses and consumers. Not only does it allow for that instant settlement, it also saves significantly on transaction fees, which allows businesses to pass on the benefits and deliver more for their customers without reducing their own profit margins.

Our pay-by-bank capabilities will take things further, completing the circle by providing a payment provision that will be much more sophisticated than any other open banking solution. We will also be able to scale it for far greater ease of use.

For example, for merchants, the new SSV Smart Account will reduce the cost of charges by 70 to 80% in some cases. Those are savings which they can use to contribute to their community, profits, or purpose. If a coffee shop’s purpose is to deliver coffee at a reasonable price, this technology helps to enable that.
