Join the British Army as a Foreigner or Commonwealth Citizen

Here, we’ll be looking at how you can be eligible to join the British Army as a Foreigner or Commonwealth Citizen in 2024.
British Army Commonwealth Criteria – Join the British Army as a Foreigner
If you’re a Commonwealth citizen, there are limited spaces available for you in the British Army. Commonwealth citizens are eligible for the Army, and no longer need to be residents of the United Kingdom. There are two criteria that you must meet:
1. You must have permission to enter the UK. If you have some kind of travel ban which prevents you from entering the UK, then you are not eligible to join the British Army.
2. You must possess a passport that is valid for at least two years after your starting date in the Army. So, if you started work in the Army on 25th April 2024, it must be valid at least until 25th April 2026.

If you are a citizen of any of the following countries, then you are eligible to join the British Army as a Commonwealth citizen: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Brunei Darussalem. Cameroon, Canada, Cyprus, Dominica, Fiji, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Saint Lucia, Samoa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Sri Lanka, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Swaziland. Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Uganda. United Republic of Tanzania, Vanuatu, and Zambia.
