Farmers, We Stand With You.

As a business, we do not usually get political but the government’s proposed changes to inheritance tax threaten the future of farming communities and could put family businesses at risk. The assets held by farmers may sound expensive but the profit margins (if profits are made) are tiny.

Farming isn’t just a business; it’s a way of life that feeds our nation and preserves our heritage. Farmers deserve fair treatment.

Last week we gained a new (very cute!) resident in Newbury, home to our Country office.

In anticipation of the film ‘Paddington in Peru’, 23 statues are being placed across the UK. Newbury is one of those lucky places as Michael Bond, the author of Paddington Bear, was born here. The beloved bear is sitting in front of Newbury’s iconic department store, Camp Hopson.
