No visible mould.
No obvious leaks.
At first glance, it seemed like a quick and straightforward renovation.
Then we started the strip-out.
Behind the bath we discovered hidden moisture, damaged boards and materials that should never have been covered over with a new bathroom installation.
And this is exactly why a professional bathroom renovation is not about: ❌ simply sticking new tiles on
❌ “finishing it in 4 days”
❌ covering problems up
It’s about: ✔ checking the structure properly
✔ preparing the substrate correctly
✔ replacing what genuinely needs replacing
✔ waterproofing wet areas properly
✔ building a bathroom that will last for years
Most importantly — even though nobody expected to find these hidden issues, the client was not charged any additional labour costs for the extra work involved.
The client only covered the additional materials required to repair and prepare the area correctly.
