Grenfell 7 Years Anniversary: A CALL TO ACTION
Seven years ago, the Grenfell Tower fire claimed 72 lives, a tragedy rooted in preventable failures. Today, The Property Institute (TPI) stands with survivors and the community, urging the next Government to urgently address building safety.
The next Government must rise to the occasion and commit to proactive, tangible measures that prioritize human life and safety above all else. This includes tackling implementation issues, overcoming slow progress, removing bureaucratic obstacles, and revisiting amendments to the Building Safety Act. We need to fully fix unsafe buildings and protect residents from unnecessary costs. As stated in our Manifesto – we need to finish the job of fixing unsafe buildings.
Progress has been made with the Building Safety Act 2022, but many residents remain at risk. It’s time for decisive action.
We owe it to the victims, survivors, and ourselves to build safer communities. The next Government must act and deliver on the promises made in the wake of the Grenfell tragedy.
Let us remember Grenfell not just with sorrow, but with an unwavering commitment to ensuring a safer future for all
