The summer crowds have disappeared, the beaches are quieter, and from 1st October the seasonal dog restrictions are lifted — so there’s even more room for walks, sniffs and generally avoiding half of Pembrokeshire if your dog would rather not socialise 😂🐾

The Den has its own enclosed garden, our 1-acre enclosed dog field is available for sole use, and we welcome up to 3 dogs — including XL Bullies.

We owe our guests an apology. 😂

For years, people have left reviews saying things like:

“Spotlessly clean.”
“Absolutely immaculate.”
“So clean.”

And every time we've thought… well yes? Of course it’s clean. You’re paying to stay there. Surely that’s just the absolute minimum?

Apparently not. 😂

We’ve stayed in a few holiday lets recently and we finally understand why people comment on it.

Because “clean” and actually clean are apparently two very different things.

At first glance, everything looks fine.

Then you notice the grubby cupboard doors.
The dirty drawers.
The fridge with bits of someone else’s dinner still in it.
The bathroom that definitely hasn’t met a toothbrush around the plug hole for a while.
The floors that look clean until your socks tell you otherwise.
And that general slightly grubby smell of somewhere that really needs a proper deep clean.

We're honestly a bit baffled.

Maybe our standards are too high, but we just cannot imagine opening the door to one of our cabins and thinking, “Yep, that’ll do.”

It doesn’t have to be new.
It doesn’t have to be fancy.
It doesn’t have to be five-star luxury.

But if someone is paying to stay there, it should be properly bloody clean.

So now, when someone leaves us a review saying our cabins are spotless, We will no longer think, “Well obviously.”

We think, “Ahhh… now we get it.” 😂

Yesterday we had to say goodbye and let our little boy, Siddy, go. 💔

We knew the anaesthetic was going to be risky with him being 12 years old and having his heart condition, but we also knew we had to try. Unfortunately, things didn’t go the way we desperately hoped they would, and in the end the kindest and fairest thing we could do was let him go.

Our little best mate. Always there, always following us around and wanting to be part of absolutely everything.

He was amazing with the chickens, loved everybody, and although he was never particularly keen on other dogs… well, that’s how we roll around here. ❤️ We’ve always understood the ones who need a little more space.

He was such a massive part of our lives and of this place, and he is going to be really, really missed. It already feels far too quiet without him.

Sleep tight, Siddy. You really were one in a million, and we were so lucky to have you. 🐾💔

🐾 Bringing your dog to stay with us but fancy a day out? 🐾

We've spotted a great new local option that some of our guests might find really handy!

The Paw Path Doggy Daycare in Whitland offers a safe, fun environment for dogs while you head off to explore the area, visit attractions, or enjoy a meal out. Even better... they offer a pet taxi service, so your dog can be collected and dropped back to Thorny Bush! 🚕🐶

From splash pools and enrichment activities to supervised play, relaxation areas and even a doggy cinema, it looks like they've thought of everything.

We haven't used them ourselves yet, but we're always happy to share local dog-friendly services that could make your stay even easier. ❤️

POV: You book a reactive dog-friendly cabin... then realise you don't actually need to go anywhere.

No stressful walks. No busy beaches. No worrying who's around the next corner.

Just slow mornings, a secure enclosed dog field, space to breathe, and time together.

Many of our guests tell us they arrive planning to explore... and end up staying on site because their dog is finally able to relax.

Sometimes the best holiday is simply doing less. 🐾💚

We've seen lots of "enclosed pitches" popping up recently... and don't get us wrong, they're a brilliant idea for families and dogs. 🐶🏕️

But they got us thinking...

Maybe we've gone a little overboard. 😂

Our enclosed pitch is around 22m × 22m, giving you loads of space to spread out, kick a ball around, throw a game of co****le, or simply let the dogs have a proper run without feeling like you're camping on top of your neighbours.

And because it's just one private pitch, you'll also have your own toilets, hot shower and washing-up sink tucked away behind the trees.

No sharing.
No crowds.
Just your own little corner of Pembrokeshire.

Would this be your idea of camping heaven? 🌳🐕🏕️

Due to a last minute cancellation our enclosed camping pitch is available 5th to 10th June.

What a luxury being the only campers onsite .... you enjoy the peace and quiet and your dog enjoys freedom.

Spent all winter moaning about the rain… now I’m spraying water everywhere like a one-woman rainstorm 😂
This heat is brutal for the girls, so keeping the chickens cool is top priority today ☀️🐓💦
