Do you have financial or accounting experience? Do you love organising meetings and taking notes?

The Palm Bay Green Spaces Association is urgently seeking two new volunteer committee members for the following positions:

🌟Deputy Treasurer
🌟Secretary (admin)

You must be able to attend evening meetings and be comfortable with speaking to residents about the work that we do. You may also be called upon to speak with councillors, developers, and other professionals. Bonus points for any legal or planning knowledge!

We're still getting reports of people not receiving our emails, despite us having correct details on the mailing list.

We would encourage you to check your email spam folders; if you find us there, add the address to your safe sender's list.

We will be circulating another update soon, so please bear with us, as there's a lot of work going on behind the scenes. We are also aware that there is another land sale taking place at the start of August.

We thought it would be prudent to give you a quick update, given that it's been a while since the initial public meeting at St Philip's.

You will notice that the page has had a change of title - the general consensus from those interested was that the group was suited to a more general name, given its aims.

Many residents have asked whether we are taking any action, as it's been a bit quiet. So, since that first meeting at the church:

* We collated all of the email addresses we were given and sent a progress email to those who had provided contact details. Unfortunately, a lot of the addresses were illegible or bounced back to us. Work is ongoing to try and contact those people affected (there were quite a few!).

* We held a meeting for volunteers and those who wanted to get more involved, particularly with biodiversity, fundraising, and legal/planning workstreams.

* At that meeting, we established an interim committee of eight local people to take things forward. They will meet for the first time this evening to agree terms of reference and next steps.

* Barry Manners, our Chairperson, has been out and about, knocking on doors and talking to people about the group and what we are trying to achieve.

Following tonight's committee meeting, we will send an email update tomorrow to those who expressed an interest in keeping up to date (and we have the correct details for!).
