Craftsmanship at the heart of Manchester Town Hall
Our skilled Conservation Operatives have been carefully recarving these intricate dropped finials, matching the original Gothic stonework in both form and detail. From carving and finishing the new stone through to installing the bronze fixings and pull-testing each assembly, demonstrating the skill, patience and attention to detail of our conservation team. Traditional craftsmanship playing its part in securing this remarkable building for the future.

Careful conservation in progress at Hunslet Cemetery by our Masonry team
Works include the sensitive recording and dismantling of the gable bellcote which has leaned noticeably out of plumb. Stones affected by movement are being replaced with Bramley Grit stone , laid in line with traditional masonry best practice to ensure long-term durability and performance.
Alongside this, the existing slate roof covering is to be repaired with new lead weathering , delivering a robust, weatherproof finish while respecting the historic character of the structure.

We’re pleased to share that Stone Edge has been awarded the external fabric repairs project at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool , covering the Hartley Pavilion and Martin Luther King buildings of this remarkable heritage asset working in collaboration with .
Works include stone and brickwork cleaning, masonry replacement, ironwork restoration and internal structural repair.

Beyond the structural work always comes the fabric finishes. Calibrated sandstone internal cladding, calibrated internal sandstone flooring, external paviours and the restoration of the Loggia masonry flooring. It’s wonderful scheme of Works is beginning to take shape.
