The Marsh is looking glorious today 🌞

As we start the final week of Kent Wildlife Trust being at Romney Marsh Visitor Centre, we wanted to extend our thanks to all of the visitors who have expressed their sadness at us leaving. Your well wishes for the staff and messages on social media have been gratefully received and mean so much to us.

We have loved our time here and are equally sad that we're leaving.

On a happier note we're hoping that you come and join us for our final weekend, enjoy the glorious weather and take advantage of 25% our ice creams*

We've been fortunate to stock a wide variety of books from some of the many talented authors found on the Marsh.

Our Local Authors event last year was a great success and testament to how highly regarded you all are.

If you've yet to discover some of these talented locals, then the time is now. We have limited stock of some wonderful Romney Marsh focused books, available at 20% off their original price.

❗️Romney Marsh Visitor Centre Update❗️

Please be aware that Kent Wildlife Trust will cease trading at the Romney Marsh Visitor Centre on Sunday 30 June.

We hope to see as many of our regular visitors as possible between now and then and hope that any new visitors to the area are able to pop in and say hello.

We are not able to provide any further detail on who will take over the site after we leave, however we will endeavor to keep you updated if we're able to and provided it's appropriate to do so.

In the meantime keep a look out for some discounted items in the Visitor Centre and make the most of the rest of the Half Term with our Bug-tastic Trail running until Sunday 2 June.

It is with a heavy heart that we have decided not to renew our lease of Romney Marsh Visitor Centre this year and will be handing the keys back to Folkestone and Hythe District Council from 31 July 2024.

We’re hugely thankful to our wonderful staff and incredible volunteers, who have helped turn the centre and gardens into the beautiful wildlife haven and community hub that it is today. We’re hopeful that this will give a new opportunity for another local organisation/s to take it on and go on to safeguard this site for future generations.

All existing event bookings will continue as planned and the gardens, country park and trails will remain open for visitors although toilet and cafe opening hours may become more limited from June onwards as the lease end date approaches. Please check our website pages and social media for the latest updates about any upcoming planned closure dates before you visit.
