"Checked before doing anything" is a small thing that makes a big difference in someone's home.

Some good news from the summer, and a proud moment for the people behind Crawford & Co.
Ashley Crawford was named Surveying & Retrofit Services MD of the Year 2026 (Nottinghamshire) at the SME News awards. We also received Best National Retrofit Assessment & Coordination Consultancy 2026.

These awards came as Ash handed the Managing Director reins to Shannon Walker, after 20 years building the business.

Shannon joined us as an accounts apprentice and has worked alongside Ash over the years, learning the business and taking on more responsibility. To see her become Managing Director is something we’re all pleased to celebrate.

Ash remains the business owner as he starts a new chapter in his professional life, with Shannon now leading the day-to-day running of Crawford & Co.

Congratulations to them both, and thank you to our team, customers and everyone who has supported us over the years.

Visiting an older resident's home asks for a bit more care. A bit more time explaining, a bit more patience.

Muhammad clearly got that right.

We’ve seen first-hand where an apprenticeship can lead. Since 2022, members of our team have won awards across the Professional Services, Advanced and Degree Apprentice categories, while Crawford & Co has previously been named SME Employer of the Year.

That’s also why we’re pleased to be sponsoring this year’s awards. They celebrate the people building careers through apprenticeships, as well as the local employers and colleagues supporting them along the way.

"10/10. Khaled was very polite and friendly. Made me feel at ease having a stranger in my house." 🌟

That last line is the part we care about most. We're in someone's home, often for the first and only time, and how that feels matters as much as the report that comes out of it.
