🧼 "How do I keep my quartz looking brand new?" 🤔
It’s by far the number one question we get asked after installing a beautiful new quartz worktop!
Because quartz is non-porous, it’s incredibly stain-resistant and durable. But using the wrong chemicals can actually dull that gorgeous factory shine over time.
Here is our ultimate, expert-approved cheat sheet for keeping your quartz flawless:
✨ 1. The Everyday Essentials
For 95% of your daily cleaning, keep it simple. You don’t need aggressive chemicals!
The Go-To: Warm water mixed with a few drops of a mild, pH-neutral dish soap.
The Secret Weapon: Wipe down with a soft microfibre cloth in a circular motion, and always buff it dry to prevent water marks and ensure a streak-free shine.
🍷 2. For Stubborn Marks & Stains (Turmeric, Wine, Berries)
If a spill sat too long and left a mark, don't panic. Bring out the gentle specialists:
Cif Cream: A tiny dab of classic Cif Cream on a soft sponge works absolute wonders. Just wipe gently without scrubbing aggressively, and rinse thoroughly.
Bar Keepers Friend (Granite & Stone version): This is a lifesaver for tougher grime, but make sure you buy their specific Granite & Stone line (the original powder formula can be too abrasive for the resin in quartz).
🦠 3. Safe Disinfecting
Harsh bleach and highly acidic cleaners can damage the resins holding your quartz together. To sanitise safely:
Look for an anti-bacterial spray specifically labeled safe for natural stone and quartz. It kills the germs without stripping the shine.
