🌿 Sustainability in Action

We’ve been busy clearing and removing green waste across The School House site as part of our ongoing preparation works.

Rather than simply disposing of the material, we’re taking a more sustainable approach by recycling the suitable green waste into wood chippings, which will be repurposed to create temporary walkways around the site during the winter months.

This not only helps us make practical use of materials already available on site but also reduces unnecessary waste and supports a more resource-conscious approach to construction.

🏡 Sales Strategy Meeting | The School House

Last week, we welcomed our sales agent to The School House for an on-site sales strategy meeting.

It was a productive opportunity to discuss our approach to bringing the properties to market, explore off-plan sales opportunities and develop a clear plan of action for the months ahead.

We’ve been busy locating and identifying existing utility meters across The School House site as we continue preparations for the development.

Establishing a clear understanding of the existing utility infrastructure is an important part of the early stages, allowing us to coordinate connections, plan ahead and ensure everything is managed efficiently from the outset.

Getting these essential details right early on helps minimise potential delays and keeps the project moving forward smoothly.

Our new site cabin has officially arrived, providing a dedicated workspace for our Construction Project Manager, Esther, as we continue preparations for the next stages of the development.

Having a permanent base on site will help support the day-to-day coordination of works, contractors and project progress as we move closer to bringing this development to life.

Update from The School House 🏗️

Our structural engineer has been on site to carry out further investigations into the existing roof structure.

We’ve established that the buildings have king trusses supporting the roofs. As part of the redevelopment, we’re lowering the existing floor levels, which means alterations will be required to the roof structures to accommodate the new design.

Another important step in understanding the existing building and progressing the scheme towards the next phase of works.

Last week, we had a full team site visit at our latest project, bringing everyone together to walk through the scheme, review progress and discuss the next stages of the development.

It’s always valuable getting the whole team on site, sharing ideas and making sure everyone is aligned as we move the project forward.

👋 Welcome to the team, Esther!

We’re delighted to welcome Esther to Crossover Property as our new Construction Project Manager.

Esther brings over 12 years of experience within the construction industry, having worked her way from Assistant Site Manager in 2014 to Site Manager and, most recently, Senior Site Manager.

Having worked across major housebuilders and growing independent developers, she brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to the team.

Esther will be taking a leading role on our School House development, helping oversee the transformation of the former school house and surrounding buildings into a collection of high-spec homes and apartments.

For Esther, the most rewarding part of construction is seeing a vision become reality, bringing existing buildings back to life and creating homes that people are genuinely proud to live in.

We’re really excited to have Esther on board and look forward to seeing her play a key part in bringing James’ vision for the School House to life.

🔬 From science lessons to something completely new…

Over at The School House, this is what one of the rooms currently looks like the old existing science laboratory, where children once sat and learnt their science lessons.

But not for much longer…

The room is about to undergo a complete transformation as part of the wider redevelopment of The School House.

We’re now preparing to begin the soft strip, with tenders being awarded shortly before works get underway.

It’s always exciting to see a project move from planning and preparation into the early stages of construction, and this is just the beginning.

We’ll be sharing more updates as the transformation takes shape. 👀

🚨 BIG NEWS AT THE MILLS 🚨

A huge milestone for The Mills.

We have now completed all of the units that have been sold. 🏗️

After reviewing the development, we’ve also made the decision to retain 8 properties within our portfolio rather than sell them, and we’re now moving forward with the refinancing of these units.

It’s a major step forward for the development and a great position to be in after everything that has gone into bringing The Mills to life.

From development to completion and now retaining part of the scheme within the portfolio ✅
