A very positive result for North Ward, my colleague Cllr Zameer Ali and I will continue to push the Safer Communities Team for more cameras in fly tipping hotspots in the Ward.

I ask residents to continue to report

Two men have been ordered to pay £703 by Peterborough Magistrates Court after they were caught on CCTV dumping a mattress on a Peterborough street.

Both men were given the opportunity to pay a fixed penalty notice to discharge their liability for the offence, but failed to pay. As a consequence, the Safer Communities Service prosecuted both men for fly tipping.

Great to attend Eid in the Square for the first time today in Cathedral Square.

It was fantastic to meet the organisers, volunteers, local charities and community groups who made this event possible. A wonderful celebration bringing people together through food, culture and community spirit.

Well done to everyone involved in creating such a welcoming and successful event. 👏

Congratulations to Cllr Chris Harper elected as Mayor of Peterborough, I am sure he will do a fantastic job Chairing Full Council Meetings.

Councillor Chris Harper has been elected as Peterborough City Council Mayor for 2026/27. His appointment was confirmed following the annual council meeting this evening. Cllr Harper’s wife Rita will be Mayoress.

The Deputy Mayor will be Cllr Andrew Bond, and Cllr Jade Seager will be Deputy Mayoress.

During his spell as Mayor, Cllr Harper will support the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Peterborough Women's Aid and Little Miracles.
