🚪 Bathroom Access Upgrade Completed

Another job completed by AK Building & Construction Services Ltd.

The customer wanted direct access to their downstairs bathroom from the bedroom, rather than having to enter through the hallway.

🔨 Cut through the existing solid wall to create the new doorway
🏗️ Installed a concrete lintel for structural support
🔌 Relocated the double socket
💡 Installed a new bathroom light switch in the bedroom
🧱 Re-plastered the bedroom wall
🚪 Supplied and fitted a new oak door and lining
🪚 Re-fitted the existing skirting and installed new architrave
🧱 Tiled around the new opening with a decorative feature tile, as the existing tiles were too old to match
🪵 Supplied and fitted new LVT flooring in the bathroom
🔥 Relocated the existing towel rail and fitted a new, smaller towel rail
🔧 Extended the pipework within the floor to suit the new towel rail position

🚧 Driveway Opening Upgrade – Job Complete! 🚧

Knocked down the existing block wall and pier to create a larger driveway opening for the customer.

🔨 Rebuilt the block pier to the new layout
🧱 Removed the old wall section
🛠️ Concrete laid where the old wall was as a temporary finish until the new driveway is completed next year.

Customer is taking care of the waste removal on this one.

We took over this garden after being left with some seriously poor workmanship — including concrete fence posts that weren’t even installed level! 😳

We stripped it right back and completely transformed the space:

✅ Added a course of blockwork to increase the wall height
✅ Battened the wall ready for the screening battens
✅ Cut all screening battens to size
✅ Fixed the screening battens vertically to create a clean, smart finish

We’ve turned an old garage into a modern, comfortable bedroom and bathroom, including a handy stacked washing machine and tumble dryer area.
