It's Stress Awareness Month π€―
Being a business owner is stressful in itself. However, being the owner of your own estate agency business is another level π
Moving home can be one of the most stressful times of peoples lives. Whilst it's often so rewarding helping people at such an exciting time, it's also incredibly emotional, unpredictable and testing. Even the coolest of customers π will lose their cool at times.
Here's a few ways to help manage stress as a business owner π
π Recognise what's going well! Every business owners have days where everything is going wrong and it feels as if the world is against them. Identify what's working well and remind yourself that it's not all bad.
β° Create structure! Being a business owner means you need to be adaptable and adjust. However, creating a schedule or structure to your day can help you feel more organised and stay in control. It won't always go to plan but just working towards it will make you feel more in control.
π€« Turn off notifications! This is something that really helped me in my working life. Even when you're working, switch off your notifications. The constant distraction and flitting between a number of tasks is not efficient and has been proven to negatively affect productivity.
π« Say no! This is ironic coming from me π we want our customers to be happy so we often go above any beyond and take on more than we can realistically handle. If you can't (or don't want to!) commit to something, just say no. Or offer an alternative that will work for you.
π Delegate and recruit! Hiring someone to help you with the tasks that are time consuming or the tasks that you don't enjoy will help you to build a long-lasting sustainable business. The thought of the cost is scary initially but investing in the right person will pay for itself!
