Before & After | Lydiate We were appointed by a repeat client who has purchased a new home which already had planning for some extensions etc. we have tweaked a few things to make it more suitable or our client and his family and also to keep the proposal in keeping rather than turning this already stunning home into something too contemporary. The next stage is detailed construction drawings which we are working on now. Looking forward to see this project start 👍 ✅ 🏡

This run down bungalow is getting a whole new transformation. The existing bungalow will be demolished and replaced with a traditional style dormer bungalow - our clients are going for the black timber cladding which I think looks like a statement piece. Other options were your usual render or reclaimed brick. Definitely the black cladding stands out with the zinc roof and dormers. The oak structure ties it all together with a rustic feel. 🪵 Volume calcs had to be submitted along with BNG reports and a whole lot more.

A simple but effective transformation of this traditional countryside home near Skipton.

As an architectural practice, we wanted to retain the character and proportions of the original property while giving it a fresh, contemporary identity. Crisp off-white render, Crittall-style glazing, subtle modern additions and considered landscaping completely change the feel of the house without overcomplicating the design.

Sometimes the biggest transformations come from keeping things simple.

We’re delighted to have now submitted a full planning application for this exciting redevelopment following positive pre-application feedback from the local authority.

The proposal transforms a redundant brownfield site into three contemporary detached homes, including one larger executive dwelling alongside two beautifully designed family homes. Featuring crisp white render, extensive glazing, and first-floor balconies, the scheme has been carefully designed to create a modern development that sits comfortably within its surroundings while making the most of the site’s potential.

We believe great architecture starts with seeing opportunities where others see constraints, and this project is a perfect example of that.
