Retail Reboot Rhyl Update!

First up, a warm seaside welcome to our newest volunteer who’s jumped straight into the action. Fresh ideas, fresh energy, and already getting stuck in helping us bring empty premises back to life.

We’ve also been running some in-house training sessions so the team can sharpen their skills behind the scenes. Think of it as a bit of digital DIY, learning the tools, tightening the bolts, and making sure everything runs smoother than the Rhyl miniature railway on a calm day.

Meanwhile, the email engines have been firing. We’ve been reaching out to local letting agents, property owners, and services to invite them to join the project and help connect future businesses with the spaces waiting for them. The more local partners we bring on board, the stronger the retail reboot becomes.

And here’s the shiny bit, everyone now has their very own fancy new project email address!
No more mystery inboxes. Just proper, polished contact points for the team as we grow.

But wait, the coolest upgrade might just be this:

Our new interactive premises map is fully functioning.
You can now explore available units around town and see -

• Location
• Type of premises
• Estimated rental and rates costings
• And soon, projected running costs to help future businesses plan ahead.

It’s basically a treasure map for entrepreneurs looking for their next adventure in Rhyl.

Step by step, email by email, and shop by shop, we’re working to turn empty windows into bright, busy businesses again.

Behind the scenes here at Retail Reboot Rhyl, the kettle’s been on and the keyboards have been clacking.

We’ve been reaching out to local letting agents to expand our premises listings, reviewing contracts and double checking the fine print, designing fresh graphics, and building tools that make opportunities easier to explore. Every detail matters when you’re working on regeneration that’s built to last.

We’ve also been engaging with the public, listening to ideas, spotting patterns, and shaping a series of public outreach questions that will be coming your way very soon. Your voice is part of this transformation.

It’s all part of a bigger mission fuelled by collaboration, transparency, innovation, community engagement, placemaking, revitalisation, sustainability, entrepreneurship, local investment, and town retail revival.

Quiet progress. Loud impact. More updates landing soon.

Over the past few days, we’ve been busy turning empty premises into opportunity-packed downloadable brochures designed to inspire ideas and spark action.

Each brochure is print ready and packed with practical detail. You’ll find recent high resolution photography, clear floor plans, key dimensions, nearby local amenities, transport links, footfall context, and full agent contact details for quick next steps. We’ve also included usage ideas, accessibility notes, and location highlights so nothing is left to guesswork.

These brochures are built to support regeneration, encourage investment, boost high street revival, and attract startups, independent businesses, creative spaces, and community projects. Think placemaking, economic growth, sustainability, transformation, and long term opportunity, all wrapped into one simple download.

If you’re dreaming, planning, or pitching, these brochures are your new favourite tool.

Behind the scenes update!

Our brand-new website has officially gone into construction mode. While the public view is still behind the safety tape, our team is inside with hard hats on, keyboards clacking, ideas flying, and coffee doing heroic things. Big things are being built, brick by digital brick.

We’ve also rolled out our shiny new official email addresses, giving the project a fresh, professional heartbeat. If you want to say hello, ask questions, share ideas, or just cheer us on, our main contact hub is now live and ready: [email protected]

This is one of those quiet but powerful moments where foundations are laid and momentum starts to hum. Thank you for being part of the journey. The digital doors will open soon ...

Big progress behind the scenes here at Retail Reboot Rhyl.

Over the last few days we’ve welcomed a brand new server into the family, installed the latest Ubuntu OS, and carefully built out our web, email and FTP services from the ground up. We’ve locked things down with thorough security checks, tightened configurations, and laid solid foundations for what comes next.

With the infrastructure now humming nicely, we’ve officially started rebuilding the website, setting the stage for a faster, safer and more flexible platform to support local businesses and empty spaces across Rhyl. This is the kind of invisible work that makes everything else possible, and it feels good to see it coming together.

Momentum is building. More updates soon.

Today the project was all about choosing tools that help, not hinder.

We focused on keeping things simple, practical, and people-first. We looked at what the project actually needs to run well, reviewed existing platforms, and made clear decisions on what to use, adapt, or gently leave behind.

No overbuilding. No tech for tech’s sake. Just reliable tools that are easy to update, easy to explain, and easy for volunteers to jump into. The goal is clarity, consistency, and momentum, not complexity.

With a sensible toolbox in place, Retail Reboot Rhyl is staying flexible, accessible, and ready to grow at the right pace.

Today at Retail Reboot Rhyl, we had a project spring clean!

Today was all about taking stock of what already exists and giving past work the respect it deserves. We’ve gathered old research, designs, notes, tools, paper sketches and ideas, then calmly sorted what still works, what needs a refresh, what’s worth archiving, and what can quietly retire.

No binning brilliance. No starting from scratch for the sake of it. Just clarity, organisation, and a lighter load moving forward.

This kind of reset helps us build smarter, stay focused, and make sure everything we share is clear, current, and genuinely useful for the community.

Today was all about structure. We’ve been shaping the behind-the-scenes bits that make a community project easier to join, easier to trust, and easier to grow.

We’ve clarified roles, defined how volunteers can safely get involved, set simple decision paths, and made sure everyone knows where things live and who to ask. No red tape. No corporate fog. Just clear, practical foundations that let good ideas breathe.

This means Retail Reboot Rhyl is now:
Volunteer-friendly
Clear on purpose
Built to last
Ready for collaboration

Strong foundations make stronger communities, and we’re building this one step at a time, together.

Retail Reboot Rhyl is for people. Real people, with real stakes

This project isn’t one-size-fits-all.
It supports property owners, business starters, volunteers, partners, and the wider community, each in slightly different ways.

We’re here to make things clearer, calmer, and easier to explore.
No pressure. No hype. No hidden agendas.
Just visibility, access, and better starting points for local ideas.

What is Retail Reboot Rhyl … and what isn’t it?

Retail Reboot Rhyl is a local, community-led project focused entirely on the town of Rhyl.
Our aim is simple: make it easier to explore empty retail and commercial premises and help people understand what spaces are available for business use.

We list all kinds of commercial spaces, not just shopfronts. That includes offices, storage, production units, logistics spaces, and more. Whether your idea is customer-facing or behind the scenes, it belongs in the conversation.

We’re a neutral information hub.
We don’t act as agents, negotiate contracts, or give legal advice. What we do offer is clarity, visibility, and a calmer starting point for people with ideas.

This is about access, transparency, and opportunity.
About supporting independent businesses, startups, pop-ups, and community-led projects.
And about building a model that works locally, and could one day inspire other towns to do the same.

Step by step. Practical. Positive. Local.

Retail Reboot Rhyl is back.

We’re working to turn empty shops in Rhyl into active, occupied spaces by making premises easier to find, easier to understand, and less intimidating to explore.

This is about visibility, access, and clarity.
About lowering barriers, sharing information, and helping people take first steps with confidence.
No pressure. No hype. Just practical support for local businesses, startups, and community-led ideas.

If you care about regeneration, opportunity, and bringing life back to empty spaces, you’re already part of the conversation.

Let’s rebuild momentum, together!
