Some really lovely comments from our last guests: Ghillies Croft Cabin was the cleanest place we have ever stayed. It had absolutely everything that you might need from electric blankets to nail files. We found everything was so well thought out and catered for all home comforts were available and in brilliant condition.
We came to the cabin for three nights as a couple with our two Labradors. The cabin was lovely and spacious and has a porch perfect for drying the dogs after a long walk so the living space remained clean. The panoramic views onto the beach and harbour were fantastic and we enjoyed watching the boats coming in even in the rain!
The location is five minutes walk from Rothsay town, this was lovely to stroll into with the dogs and we enjoyed going to the Bute yard and the deli for breakfast! The Cabin was great for the dogs and the dog friendly atmosphere of the island. A perfect quiet getaway with plenty of choice of how to spend our time.
Venturing further from the cabin, our favourite place was the short drive to Scalpsie bay where we spotted some seals. We also enjoyed a walk around the grounds of Mount Stuart, which even in the rain was beautiful. The perfect end to the day warming up from the wood fine in the cabin!
The hosts were so lovely and welcoming and gave plenty of advice on the best local spots and walks. We will definitely be coming back!
