Guinness World Records has announced on its official X page that Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has set a new world record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice. The massive dish weighed 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) and was prepared in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The announcement, which has since gone viral, spotlighted Baci’s growing reputation as a cultural ambassador for Nigerian cuisine.

The monumental dish was prepared as part of Hilda Baci’s ongoing campaign to promote Nigerian cuisine and culture globally.

Her previous Guinness World Record efforts had already earned her global attention and this latest achievement further cements her status as an ambassador for West African food.

According to the announcement, the massive pot of jollof was cooked using traditional Nigerian methods and ingredients, with dozens of cooks and assistants joining hands over several hours to complete the task.
