🚨 Today’s Reactive Maintenance Call-Out 🚨

Late last night, we received a call from a client regarding a potentially dangerous toilet floor at one of their High Street commercial properties.

The issue? The floor was dipping beneath the vinyl when walked on just inside the toilet cubicle, with what appeared to be a hole forming underneath. The problem had noticeably worsened over the past week and had spread across the full width of the cubicle, creating a serious safety hazard.

We attended first thing this morning to carry out a full survey. After assessing the damage, the client asked if we could complete the repair there and then—and that’s exactly what we did. 💪

🔨 The repair involved:
✅ Removing the toilet cubicle door.
✅ Carefully lifting the existing vinyl flooring.
✅ Cutting out and removing the rotten chipboard flooring, along with sections of cement board and old latex finishes.
✅ Strengthening the affected sub-floor with new timber joists where required.
✅ Installing new structural plywood.
✅ Applying SBR and feather finish compound to create a perfectly level transition between the new and existing floor.
✅ Re-laying the existing vinyl flooring.
✅ Re-fitting the skirting boards.
✅ Re-hanging and adjusting the toilet cubicle door.

Another reactive maintenance job completed safely and efficiently, leaving our client with a secure, fully usable toilet and, most importantly, removing the risk of someone falling through the floor—all in less than 24 hours from the initial call.
