Today me and my glamorous assistant dug a hole filled it with water and waited for it to drain for almost an hour,

Thankfully our perculation test was a rousing success and the drainage field we designed for Prickles and Paws Hedgehog Rescue and Warvena Construction ltd is more than capable of aerobic digestion and won’t cause any environmental impact to our beautiful county 👌🤓🍻

What a day! Progress from the end of day one, to the end of a ten hour Saturday. All the edgers laid to the existing ground level, the inside scraped out to allow for a grit bed, geotextile fabric, geogrid, and a nice scattering of gravel I had the help of Steve Bird on the machine today.

I’ve been working on this exciting project for Community Roots Cornwall with Warvena Construction ltd.

If you like gardening and nature these guys are worth a follow and a visit, an excellent market garden run by some amazing people.

Im really Looking forward to their grand opening in may! 🥳

A few little jobs completed over the last week,

Replacing the slabs after a new driveway was installed. all cut to size,back buttered, and layed on a nice thick bed!

A reveal extension to accommodate a shutter garage door unfortunately we couldn’t gain bond on the brick course without seriously weakening the structural integrity of the lintel so it was decided a straight join there would be the best option,

And a nice raised shed base built to keep the contents off the floor and away from any water that may run underneath the walls,

Onto the big jobs over the next month so stay tuned for some incredible home improvements and new builds!

A new crown fitted to a chimney today in the windy sunshine 💨🍃🌞

after the old bricks and crown came off by hand I rebuilt the original chimney, filled all the cracks prepared the area and gave it a nice new crown.
that should stop the fire sizzling on a rainy day 💪 I didn’t take many photos as there were some pretty hefty gusts blowing through

Finished off the week with a bit of fencing in this beautiful garden.
A last minute urgent job so the homeowners could let their dog out without fear of him going on a little adventure,
I also had time to build a new gate and temporarily hang it on the side path of the house to keep that end secure until the customers can get the new fence posts and entranceway built 💪

A nice render repair done for this customer that had a mess left after having a new door installed. The timber was packed with insulation, a damp proof course added, capped off with render board, followed by a nice coat of sand and cement render. It’s now ready for a quick coat of paint. A small job that really starts making this house into a home 👌💪
