Finally time to finish the last property at Stanley Terrace, we’ve been struggling with our other commitments to get a start. Joiners in now, currently working on the best stragedy to refit the 1890’s shutters that we had chemically stripped. We can’t wait to see these original fittings back in action. The workmanship that went into making these deserves to be celebrated.

Final clean and polish going on in 122b now then ready for carpets!

Thanks to Revival Stripping for dipping and removing 150 years worth of paint from the original window shutters that will be being refitted in the final plot on the Stanley site, it would be criminal to repaint these and hide the stories they tell.

The painter has assured me that finishing these stairs with shellac hand painted spindles and hard wearing lacquer on the oak handrail was an absolute mare and he’s not looking forwards to the next one 😂😂 next up carpets

122C’s rear garden coming on nicely, note unlike others we put a good 300mm of high grade top soil down, we don’t just use the spoil we’ve dug out that’s full of bricks and other detritus 😂😂

Once the new floor is in the next task are the mammoth 3.1 metre high stud walls that create the insulated box within the brick walls of the original structure providing a fully sealed insulated enclosure that provides better insulated and air tightness properties than a standard cavity wall new build. The internal studs are vapour sealed both sides and infilled with high performance foil board insulation to ensure the properties are lovely and warm, draft free and have nice straight finished walls within a traditional building.
