The most choice since 2010

Buyers have more homes to choose from than any year since 2010

Rightmove reports that buyers now have the largest choice of homes for sale since 2010. That is good news if you are buying, and a challenge if you are selling, because your home is one of many on the screen.

Three things decide whether a listing gets clicked.

The lead photo. An exterior shot in good light, or the best room in the house, not the downstairs loo. September mornings on the Isle of Axholme give lovely low light, so use them.

A clear floorplan. Buyers scroll straight past listings without one.

The first line. “A wonderful opportunity” says nothing. “Three-bed semi in Crowle, ten minutes on foot from the station, with a south-facing garden” says everything.

Get those three right and your home stands out, from a terrace in Scunthorpe to a cottage near Eastoft.
