Went all the way to the big beach this morning gathering the last bits of BBQ debris from my teenage sons' post exam outing last night (they did well with taking their rubbish home with them, just a couple of bits I found 😉).

Tess loves it in the dunes 🐾.

Last pic is from the same spot in the dunes looking back the way, basically looking back to ours and to the pod. Sea on both sides, gets me every time 🌊🐚🏖️

Hebridean Tweed Journal Retreats

Enjoy a stay of 4 nights in our cosy and spend three days as a 1-2-1 (or 1-2-2 if you fancy bringing someone) in my studio learning the art of binding with tweed and making gorgeous journals.

Over the three days, you will choose from a variety of stunning tweed and/or leather bindings such as: 

a lovely, chunky leather and tweed cross structure 

a lush tweed aperture journal 

a tweed note pad with pastel colour interleafing 

a coptic tweed journal with handsewn headbands for that extra little touch of gorgeousness 

a coptic tweed photo album

a leather long stitch journal

You will be choosing from a selection of stunning Hebridean tweeds from the  for your lovely bundle of journals.

The 4-night stay in our pod is £380. 

The workshop fee is £495 for a one-to-one three-day session (or £315 per person for a one-to-two three-day session, should you choose to bring someone). If you want to bring another person, there is no extra cost for the pod.

To secure the booking of the pod, the accommodation fee is payable upon booking, with the fee for the three-day tweed journal session due just before the time of your retreat

Come stay in our pod and recycle your wellie boots the bookbinding way
 
If your wellie boots are worn, have holes in them, or are simply past their best, why not turn them into a stunning coptic binding. 

Or maybe, like me, you have found a single wellie on the beach which has weathered beautifully over time - come and join me for two days to let bookbinding do its magic!!

Spend two days in my studio for a bespoke 1-to-1 workshop. 

We will first prepare the wellie boot to make the book boards which will form the outer covers for our coptic binding.

We will then prepare a deckled book block with subtle, colourful interleaving showing on the exposed spine and blending in beautifully with the outer cover. 

And finally, we will sew our book, turning it into a robust, organic and just gorgeous coptic journal. 

Each binding differs in size, depending on the wellie boot we work with, they can be as big and chunky as 27cm x 17cm or a more ledger like 12cm wide by 21cm high - figuring out the format is part of the fun. What is guaranteed is a unique outcome which will give you pure joy!!

The workshop fee is £310 for a one-to-one two-day session and our pod is £95 per night.
