After 8 years in our great offices in Shepherd’s Bush, APA recently relocated to our fantastic new offices in Theed Street, Waterloo. Prior to occupation, we undertook a complete refurbishment of the office, including internal alterations to include a new shower for the cyclists, and a sound proofed meeting room so that we can put Rob in there occasionally! 😉

Our plush new offices are located within a fantastic courtyard office development shared with a great variety of companies, including architects, travel specialists, construction companies etc. We're also located adjacent the stunning Roupell Conservation area, which has been the site of many a tv and film shoot such as No Time To Die, Legend, Dr Who etc.

So if you're ever in the area, please feel free to pop in for a drink and a chat.

Antony Patrick Associates have recently been appointed as the Project Managers / Contract Administrators for the reinstatement of a fire damaged residential block in North London. The extensive fire, and subsequent significant water damage, has sadly resulted in the residents of 13 properties losing their homes for the foreseeable future, however although many treasured personal memories have been lost, thankfully nobody was hurt in the fire.

Working closely alongside both, Michael Alexander Engineers Ltd., (Structural Engineers), and the appointed loss adjusting team, APA initially undertook the Project Management lead for the initial making safe to enable the completion of the fire investigations. This included organising the partial site clearance and temporary support works and asbestos surveys, to facilitate safe access to the building, along with a measured survey of the building, (undertaken by Spatial Dimensions).

We are currently now in the process of preparing the extensive demolition and strip out specification for both the roof structure and internal areas, including liaising with the local authority, ready for the first phase of the works to commence imminently.

The subsequent reinstatement works will involve the renewal of the roof structure and coverings, along with associated external works, and full internal fit out of the 13 flats. To assist with this, the APA team attended site to collate site information and samples of finishes to enable the accurate development of the reinstatement specification, which will be prepared ready for works to commence in early 2024.

REPAIR CARE INTERNATIONAL – TRAINED CONTRACTOR COURSE

The team at APA recently attended the Repair Care International Ltd. ‘Trained Contractor’ course at the Akzo Nobel Headquarters in Slough. The course provided both theoretical and practical training in regards the use of the Repair Care timber repair system, with an emphasis on the ‘hands-on’ approach……. With admittedly mixed results from the team in terms of the quality of our first attempts at using the tools and products!

So although we may need a little more practice before we are let loose on a building, the training helps reinforce our knowledge, and attention to detail in regards the application of the Repair Care products. A very useful and fun day’s training, although we did get some strange looks on the train home with our window sections on our laps!

WESTWOOD LIQUID TECHNOLOGIES – ROOF SYSTEM TRAINING DAY

In 2022 the APA team attended Westwood Liquid Technologies in Poole, for a hands on training experience of their liquid roof waterproofing systems. The course provided both theoretical and practical training and we even manged to apply some of the products without getting too messy!

We really appreciate the opportunity to use the very products we recommend as this valuable insight is vital when assessing the product on site.

As the year draws to a close, just a little message on behalf of the APA team, to bid you all a Happy New Year and wish you all peace, love, happiness and continued success for 2016.

2015 has been a fantastic year for APA, we have secured some amazing long term commissions and also been appointed on some fantastic projects.

The year was crowned off by Antony Patrick Associates Ltd. being awarded 'Highly Commended' in the 'Building Surveyor of the Year' category at the 'News On the Block Property Management Awards 2015-2016'. We are very honoured to receive this award given that we are not yet two years old and would like to thank everybody who voted for us and helped us along the way.

As part of our company ethos, we have just donated some of our profits to 4 charities very close to the team's hearts, namely: British Heart Foundation, Macmillan Trust, Wood Green - The Animals Charity and The Alzheimers Society. Worthy charities one and all.

Finally we’d also like to take this opportunity to say thank you once again for choosing to work with APA this year, without you we wouldn't be where we are today!
