1st January. A date that will always matter to me. On this day in 2013, Wishart Estate Agents officially began, not with a big launch or a team behind me, but with a desk in the spare room of my parents house in Copmanthorpe, a phone, notebook and a belief that people in York and Tadcaster deserved something better from their estate agent.

Back then, I didn’t know exactly where the journey would lead. What I did know was that I wanted to build a business that treated every move as more than just a transaction, because behind every property is a story, a family, a change, or a fresh start.

Over the years, Wishart Estate Agents has grown. We’ve been trusted with first homes and final moves, upsizing and downsizing, joyful beginnings and very difficult chapters. We’ve shared kitchen table conversations, cups of tea, nerves, excitement and relief.

None of this would have been possible without the people who believed in us. Our clients who placed their trust in Wishart Estate Agents, the wonderful team who have supported me and helped shape the business along the way, the local professionals who have worked alongside us for years, and the community that continues to recommend & support us.

York and Tadcaster aren’t just areas we work in. They’re where we live, where we grew up, where our children are growing up, where businesses support one another, where relationships matter, and where reputation is earned over a lifetime time, not bought.

As we step into a new year, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of our story so far. Your support has shaped this business more than you’ll ever know.
