A little riverside perspective from Stratford-upon-Avon Boat Club.

Across the Avon, Cox’s Yard and The Attic Theatre bring together riverside drinks and close-up performances, with the old Tramway Bridge framing the view.

Designed by John Urpeth Rastrick for the horse-drawn Stratford and Moreton Tramway, the bridge once carried goods across the river. With the tramway opening in 1826, this year marks 200 years since that journey began.

These days, the pace is a little gentler, a stroll across the bridge, a drink by the water or an evening at the theatre. Plenty of history in one familiar Stratford view.
