CHRISTMAS PROMISE! 🎄🎅
Finally got round to building our media wall ready for Christmas.
That’s me shut up shop now till the Spring 26 while I conduct some other ventures!
I will still be able to take WhatsApp, emails and DM’s on socials but my phone and text will be unavailable.

QUIET PROFESSIONAL!!!
Well it’s been a while since I posted on here, but I’ve been busy on various different jobs or projects. Here is a selection of some jobs…
I also have a love hate relationship with social media and most of the time it winds me up! Yes it can be a great advertising tool but equally you can get drawn into all the crap.
Either way, I have just been getting on with it and the work keeps coming in. I feel now that I have established myself well and got my name out there. This has allowed me to settle into a battle rhythm that suits me. It has also allowed me to tackle some of my own projects and start looking at other avenues / streams of the business I want to develop!
I have a few more weeks to box off my remaining jobs and then I’m on the move again!
You are the barer of your own destiny! 👊

Transforming this pervious customers garden patio ready for enjoying them summer vibes.
There is something very therapeutic about pressure washing! I get my tunes on and scrub away the grime to give things a nice least of life.
Do your outside areas need a bit of professional TLC? 🤔

B L U E S T A B L E D O O R
A new stable door for this customer’s Grade 2 listed holiday home. It has definitely been a Labour of Love but the customer is super happy with the outcome!
This was the first time hanging this style of door.
I have definitely learnt a lot during the process, but very happy with the results.

VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE!
Today was helping a previous custom with a number of jobs around their property. Then dropping off a bespoke bird table for another.
My first customer had a wobbly banister as the Newel fitted to the wall had come away. Not knowing what was behind the wall and with the bathroom on the other side. It meant getting a look inside first, so I cut a hole. I discovered the fixing used had failed and also completely missed the stud that was a few mm to the side! 🤦‍♂️
I put 3 x new screws into the stud work to secure and then set to patching the hole. Once dry it will be ready for a light sand and paint!
Learnt something new today when fitting the fireplace mantle. The wooden mantle needs to set 3x the width of the flue pipe away and above. As this was 150mm, that meant it had to be a minimum of 450mm. I added an Inch for good measure and the customer was happy with the final placement……..never be scared to learn new things!!! EVERY DAY SCHOOL DAY. 🤙
Also while fitting the new gate latch I noticed the hinged side post had come away from the wall. Hence why is wasn’t closing properly, so fixed that too! The gate now closes and locks beautifully! 🤙
Then it was onto the next customer to drop of their bird table. I also fitted a wooden plaque I had made for their bar spirits dispenser to be mounted on (forgot to take a pic! 🤦‍♂️)

ALFRESCO COOKING! 👩‍🍳🥘
A little Friday afternoon project to keep my promise to my little girl.
Over the bank holiday weekend we were enjoying a moss salad sat at her little bench in the garden. I asked if she would like me to make her an outside kitchen.
Yes please Daddy…..well not wanting to let her down I got to designing it.
Can’t wait to see her little face when she comes back from the grandparents! 🥰

S T O R A G E!!!
Every military veteran would have heard when asking for new kit from the QM’s Dept…. “Stores are for storing soldier” 🤣
During my downtime this week I have been putting my woodworking skills to use and created these bespoke built in storage shelves. Been a long time coming but it’s all starting to come together!

FIND THE ROOT!!!
A previous customer ask me to help sort the ceiling in their en-suite. The paint had started to flake away and was peeling, mainly above the shower area. After preparing the ceiling it was then mist coated and then two coats of bathroom specific paint.
I cleaned the extractor fan inside and out. The whole thing was clogged with dust/dirty preventing good air flow and ventilation……PROBLEM SOLVED!
Always try identify the root cause of the issue!
Also cracked a few other little jobs while onsite as well. 🤙

FRIDAY FIX UP!!!
Back at my recent cleaning job to finish of the re-sanding of the driveway and patio.
When quoting this job the customer showed me that the porch slabs were loose and needed sorting. So I added it to the list. Being multi skilled and having an armoury of tools I can turn my hand to most things.
I also discovered the beauty of a leaf blower when re-sanding. WOW….what a difference it makes to speeding up the process. Will definitely be investing in one of these bad boys! 😁
Then back home to fit a new letterbox for a neighbour!

S P R I N G C L E A N!!! 🌼
You can’t beat a good spring clean to get things looking fresh and tidy for summer.
Today was helping a customer clean up their garden and driveway. Plus the side path and front steps that had become an Algae Skating Ring.

SHOU-SUGI-BAN! 🔥🏯
This is an old Japanese method of preserving wood by charring it with fire. It seals the wood stopping insects and moisture from getting in and rotting the timber!
A previous customer asked if I could help save approx 20m of fencing that had a number of posts snap. They had been given a quote to install a whole new fence line and it was well outside their budget!
The actual fence was still in good order and will definitely last a few more years at least. Unfortunately the posts originally used had all snapped and rotted at the base. This is a common theme with them rotting away just below the surface. To preserve them I have seen others use black paint or creosote, but this takes time to dry.
Using my blow touch I can achieve the same result if not better use the old Japanese method. Charring the wood just above the surface line should prevent them from rotting.
I installed 7 x new posts at various stages along the fence line where I could dig down deep enough. Then using ratchet straps and ground anchors I was able to pull the fence back into position and secure it to the new spots once they set!
The customer now wants me to sort another small section on the opposite fence line in the next few weeks! 🤙
