A lovely couple up in Cowesby wanted a few things doing in preparation to selling their property. Nothing to much, just things they were unable to do themselves.
The front gate needed a lick of paint for protection and kerb appeal, the block paving to the rear was over grown and slippery (dangerous when damp/wet). The garage roof had an ingress of ivy, w**ds and thorn bush from the external. The ACO system was not functioning as it should.
The rear doors to the property were dry and needed re oiling.

All rectified to customer satisfaction with a few minor jobs completed on the inside of the house.

A little job done today up in Cowesby. A tired driveway and weathered gate needed some TLC. Gate cleaned down and repainted in Allcoat white driveway took some doing but as always customers were super happy.
I love one off days to keep me busy.

A nice little job we’ve been getting in before Christmas. Coming along nicely with a couple of frames to finish.

Top tip - now it’s dry don’t forget to get your ACO drains cleaned out. Get them ready for winter while the weathers good to prevent costly cleaning/repairs when you rely on it most.

It takes time, effort and care but it’s worth it.
Points to note

Your grass clippings are a great fertiliser, once a month (if you cut regularly) spread your clippings over the lawn on struggling patches/areas (dog fouling) the nutrients from fresh grass absorb back into your soil and promote growth.

If you have let your garden get away from you then it should be strimmed and as above and allow regen of clippings before removing (if time permits) otherwise the grass will appear brown (this will recover with regular watering)

Don’t think “my grass is too long, I’m going to set the mower onto the lowest setting and sort it out”! Cut the grass at different heights (relevant to length of your grass and the highest setting first) to prevent pressing the grass down and springing back up once you’ve finished

Know your garden, if your lawn isn’t level (like mine) then you can always cross cut ensuring you get a good finish (I haven’t as I’ve raised the deck and cut on 2nd lowest setting)

Then there are the w**ds 😩 I use a fiscars w**d puller to remove w**ds at the root and fill with a mix of soil, compost and grass seed to fill any holes and pack in. Leave slightly higher as this will compact/reduce when you soak.
