We’ve had a very exciting delivery at Totnes House - have installed the enormous kitchen and dining room windows. The kitchen and dining room, both of which were dark and dingy, are now bathed in light from the east, so we get lovely light breakfasts in these rooms, which also get light from the west later in the day from huge skylights which were installed last year. The kitchen now overlooks the beginnings of our lovely garden with its beautiful stone wall and grass starting to poke through the topsoil. The Enjoy the View team have been absolutely brilliant, from Daniel who advised us and measured up to the brilliant guys who installed them - professional and courteous. Some great work from the team in getting the window openings prepped too - thank you everyone!

Ad. We wanted a tap for our boot room that not only looked great but had good functionality too. We chose the Ridley Quad because it’s stunning and has a nifty hidden feature! It sits really nicely alongside the Caple Belfast sink too - its a great size, perfect for hectic family life!

Ad. The furniture has arrived for Finbar’s room, so our two boys finally have their own room after a year of sharing. Cormac and I spent a lovely evening last night at the down the coast in Cornwall (keep going west as far as you can before you hit the Atlantic). If you’ve never come across it before, it’s worth looking it up - the most incredible theatre built right into the cliff and offering a packed schedule of performances all summer. We saw the comedy “King Arthur” performed by Le Navet Bete who managed to make us both laugh a lot. The weather was rather “changeable”, ie we got soaked a couple of times but the showers blew through and didn’t spoil our evening! If anything it made it even more dramatic with the slightly wild seas behind adding an extra element!

The boys and I have had an amazing adventure this week on a sailing course - they’ve got their RYA Dinghy Level 1 and I’ve been a parent helper on the course, launching boats on the beach, running the BBQ (not a hardship with that view!) and crewing one of the safety boats some days. It’s been an incredible few days, we’ve had absolutely beautiful weather and had a really fun bonding experience. This is what living in the rural South West of England is all about. Big shout out to the amazing people at the Stoke Gabriel Boating Association who run the event. It’s inspired us to get out on the Dart as much as we can this summer!

Ad. Founder and lead designer from Ashbee and Stone has stopped by to see his products in situ at Totnes House and he’s got a tip for making them look even better aren’t we lucky to have the designer stop by! The bathroom just needs a paint now and then we’ll show you the finished space tomorrow (Saturday) at 5pm!

We’re working on this space with .and.stone (the new name for the Cast Iron Bath Company) for the bathroom fixtures and on the tiles - two brilliant companies that we’re excited to work with on this space. Fit out is being done by our contractors who have done us proud on much of the other work at Totnes House.

We’ve held back showing you this space, so all this week you’ll see the process from start to finish - tune in at 5pm each day with the finished space at the end of the week.

Ad. Second fix plumbing in the downstairs cloakroom is well underway and we’ve had a gorgeous arched trim hand crafted by a local joiner to really finish off the new archway.

Ad. The wood paneling is finished in the downstairs cloakroom and its tiling time! We’ve got some gorgeous tiles from Clay and Rock being installed by expert tiler Ryan. I think it’s going to look gorgeous in here!
