Hey hey!

Not posted for a couple of weeks because it’s been insanely busy, and too hot for the Gram!

We’ve just signed off another week, and we thought it would be lovely to give some props to our dear Nancy as she sails off on her annual pilgrimage to her beloved Greece for a month, so our regulars will miss her friendly face!

Have a look at what she’s done to this lovely door in Eltham this week as her parting gift!

Other than that, this week we have also wrapped up a stunning part-reno at a T15 Span house at Brooklands Park. We have tried to put together a plan to help our lovely clients at The Keep get their house ready for the big move, and ploughed on over at The Lane carrying out Repair Care resin repairs and joinery to 13 houses which will soon be coming to a close.

I (Johnny) had a nice meeting to finish the week off with a lovely couple at the office, thrashing out ideas for a Span T2 transformation, that’s the fun stuff, especially as they are leaning into mid-century on the design! Bingo!

Ever seen Ice Cold in Alex?…..

That’s how today feels after a week of melting in the sun.

Our repair guys have been chasing the shade all week as we’ve got commitments to a large number of houses at The Lane in Blackheath to ensure we get a heap of timber and resin repairs complete.

A sunny brace of Able selfies.

On one hand, we’ve got Cris and Glen catching some rays over at The Priory in Blackheath, taking care of some Tier 1 emergency maintenance. On the other, Johnny is currently boiling in a tin shed at the Birmingham NEC with our good friend Scott from Repair Care International UK . 🥵

At the end of the day, we truly value our relationships—both with our clients and our partners.

🏡 The Priory, Blackheath: We’ve been trusted to care for this estate since 2019. It holds a special place in our hearts; we’ve seen residents come and go, and built true friendships while handling regular cyclical decorations and full bespoke renovations.

New Project Klaxon! 🚨

This week we kicked off another Span project on the Cator Estate, this time over at The Lane 😍

‘Oh, The Lane! - Be still my beating heart’

For this project, we’re getting stuck into a full internal redecoration, plus some bespoke joinery that’s going to fit the space perfectly.

The team only kicked this off yesterday, and before we knock off for the weekend, we’ve already wrapped up the bathroom and prepped the hall, stairs and landing.

Next week the new joinery designs will be thrashed out and we’ll be getting the first mist coats and top coats down on the HSL and main bedroom, so watch this space!

A day away from grind*

*not quite, as its work adjacent, but all for the love of the game.

A pilgrimage from London to Bolton for this years Trade Decorator expo at Bolton Wanderers stadium was a great opportunity to meet some of our preferred suppliers and hear about some amazing new products ready for launch.

Hot takes were colour pigments for our heritage work, they also have bio based product called BIO FLEX™ which we have to onboard!

also have a new machine called the DEROS RS which is a beast for stripping doors and frames!

What a scorcher! ☀️

We spun a new angle on the spray tan this week, by getting the HVLP out in the baking sun so we could get a primer on the porch and the internal windows at our The Keep project now the repairs are almost complete!

We do this to highlight the second fine surface filling, and there was LOADS!

We also re-roofed using a solid, long lasting GRP and skimmed the ceiling.

New Project Klaxon!

This week we kicked off another Span renovation at the secluded The Keep on Blackheath’s Cator estate.

Our clients are lovely and seen a real opportunity in this T2 terrace, which has remained largely untouched since 1957. Some of our fellow Span purists will drool over the original fixtures and hardware.

We haven’t hung around this week, and before the nice sunny long weekend was upon us we have already:

* Ripped out the kitchen
* Ripped out the bathroom
* Re-wired the kitchen
* Plumbed in for new services and rads
* Removed blown plaster and boarded
* Stitched in cracked masonry
* Repaired and restored the internal windows
* Started a full renovation of the iconic porch

Next week we’ll be wrapping up the porch and getting stuck into the kitchen install, so watch this space!

Preserving the Character of South Row

It’s that time of year when we go outside, so here’s a snapshot of one of our many cyclicals last year, where we completed a comprehensive cyclical decorations project at the grade 2 listed South Row, Blackheath, where precision met preservation for 15 stunning homes.

Maintaining the architectural integrity of these properties requires more than just a fresh coat of paint—it requires specialist craftsmanship. Our team handled everything from the ground up (literally!):

• Bespoke Joinery: We manufactured custom weatherboarding in the workshop using high-quality Douglas Fir to ensure a perfect match and long-lasting durability.
• Expert Repairs: Our trained Repair Care technicians meticulously restored original timber, preventing the need for unnecessary replacements.
• Concrete Repairs: We identified problematic and dangerous concrete and carried out repairs that last using specialist Fosroc and bringing the internal exposed rebar up to grade.
• Specialist Access: As qualified IPAF operators, our team safely managed the project using a combination of scaffolding and scissor lifts to reach every detail.
