Current job this week...

Turning a blank wall into a full set of fitted wardrobes with a central TV space.

Still a few finishing touches to go, but the structure is in and you can really see it taking shape now.

The brief:
• Maximise storage
• Create a built-in look
• Make use of every bit of space
• Wall-mounted TV for a clean finish
• Spur socket added to hide cables
• Hanging space for clothes
• Drawer storage below
• Full-width shelf above
• Butt and bead finish to visible wall

Always enjoy these types of projects — loads of problem solving and getting everything spot on.

A busy year so far with a wide range of projects completed — from electrical work to bespoke storage and finishing touches around the home.
A mix of recent work:

• Electrical testing + socket alterations (including outdoor isolation via switched spur)
• Bespoke sliding wardrobe doors
• Soft-close kitchen drawer replacement with new runners
• Hallway panelling (fitted and painted)
• Bathroom fan + ducting replacement
• IKEA storage built and fixed to wall and finished for a child’s bedroom
• Timber picket gate built and painted
• Custom banquette seating with hidden storage for AV/electrics

A great little project finishing up this week: custom-built MDF drawers and shelving, perfectly fitted inside a sliding-door wardrobe. Designed to maximise storage space and built solidly for everyday use, with smooth soft-close runners for a quality feel.

These progress photos show the build taking shape – all measured to fit the space exactly, cut cleanly, and assembled with strength in mind. No wasted space and a much more organised space.

Drawers will be finished with a simple pull hole, again maximising space without the need for a handle.

All planned to be primed and painted to blend with the existing decor.

Quick little job from today — replaced a few old sockets with modern USB ones, including this 2-gang with a built-in night light. Looks tidy, works perfectly, and gives off just enough glow to guide you in the dark without switching the lights on. Had to adapt a few of the back boxes to suit the new fittings, but really happy with how it turned out.

A common issue in many new builds… 🏠

This job started with a cold, damp bedroom — the result of cold bridging where warm indoor air meets poorly insulated areas. On inspection, we found that the builders had missed out large sections of loft insulation — in some areas, none at all!

Over three days, the loft was fully insulated and brought up to, and exceeded, current building regulations, creating a warmer, drier home with no cold bridging or condensation issues.

It’s amazing how much difference proper insulation makes — not just for comfort, but for energy efficiency and long-term health of the property.

The latest project completed! 🪚🎨

A custom-made MDF bookshelf and storage unit, designed to fit perfectly between the cot and floor bed in a children’s bedroom.

Designed, cut, assembled, and painted by hand — built to make the most of the space and keep things tidy while matching the room’s look. Really pleased with how this one turned out! 👌

A stunning decking transformation in Wareham. This one was from April 2022...

Built with 8-inch joists and 15 solid 6-inch posts sunk deep for strength and stability. Every joist was protected with weatherproofing tape to boost durability and extend the deck’s lifespan.

The layout was carefully planned around existing rainwater drainage, raised to meet the back doors for a seamless flow from the kitchen, and finished with a gentle slope down to the lawn so rainwater drains naturally and the decking stays dry.

Now there’s a perfect walkout space that blends the indoors and outdoors — ready for year-round use. The project was finished with the option of adding roofing and a hot tub at a a later date.
