Something for a bit later in the year
It's here. The full Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival 2026 programme has landed - and we couldn't be more excited to share it with you.
This September (23–27), our corner of Devon becomes home to some of the most brilliant minds in books. We're talking Bryony Gordon, Caroline Quentin, Patrick Gale, Dawn O'Porter, Rachael Stirling, Liz Earle, Lord Peter Ricketts, John Crace, Luke Harding, Paul Mason, Damien Lewis, Jasmine Elmer and James Holland - plus dozens more authors, poets and speakers across five wonderful days.
There's something for everyone this year. Fiction lovers will want to get their hands on our Festival Read - Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall. History and current affairs readers won't want to miss The Traitors Circle by Jonathan Freedland, our first ever Non-Fiction Festival Read, who opens the festival on the evening of Wednesday 23 September.
Families are in for a treat too, with Children's Champion Maz Evans leading a packed weekend of events featuring Rob Biddulph, Louie Stowell and Ramzee - many of them free or just a few pounds.
Writers are well looked after with two days of the Writer's Hub in partnership with Word Kitchen, and we've got something brand new this year - Marquee Nights, relaxed evening events open to all, including a book quiz, live music and a wine tasting with Helen McGinn.
