Another attic rescue complete! 🪑✨

When I pulled this chair frame down from the attic, I realised it was slightly bigger than the pair I reupholstered last year. Because of the size difference, using the exact same fabric didn't feel quite right and wasn't necessary, which meant diving headfirst into a massive pile of sample swatches.

I originally had my heart set on a pink fabric, but after going back and forth, I settled on this gorgeous blue instead. It keeps the new chair in harmony with the other two, and as a bonus, it echoes the rabbit and hedgehog wallpaper in the bedroom perfectly.

I’m so pleased with how the end result turned out! 💙

Finally tackled the loft ladder installation! 🪜✨

For the longest time, the loft was this mysterious, off-limits void I didn't dare venture into. I was assured it was completely "empty." It so wasn’t. 😅

Look at the absolute museum of bizarre artifacts that came tumbling out:
* ⚽ Boxes of old football leaflets & a random sleeping bag
* 💡 A chandelier that missed the "retro chic" memo by a few decades
* 🔱 A garden fork... which is fascinating, considering I don't even have a garden?!
* ⌚ A mystery watch (spoiler: sadly not a Rolex)
* 🧹 Half a broom (where is the other half?!) & a lone chair frame
* 🧶 Ancient rolls of carpet
* 🐝 ...And a very deserted (thank God!) wasp nest.

Not quite empty, was it?!

After a massive clear-out, a serious declutter, and a few mild shocks, the new ladder is up and the space is officially mine. Now, my mountain of Christmas decorations is neatly stowed away up there, along with all the other various l bits that needed a proper home. 🎄📦

That is officially one of the FINAL big projects on the home to-do list ticked off. Absolute result. Hooray! 🎉🙌

They say the devil is in the detail and I couldn't agree more. ✨

It’s the subtle, thoughtful touches that transform a space from simply "decorated" into something truly special:

*Brass Skiffers: Pretty, polished corner protectors on the skirting boards that seamlessly blend practical protection with vintage charm.
*Textured Stairway: Delicate floral texturing rising just above the skirting, guiding your eye up the stairs with effortless grace (will it be noticed?).
*Fireplace Elegance: Intricate little beautifications adorning the otherwise quite understated fireplace surround, giving it more character.
*The Unsung Extras: ...and yes, right down to the tiny leaf detail on the toilet roll! 🌿

Does everyone actually spot these little hidden gems?

Whether they’re noticed the moment you walk into the room or discovered unexpectedly down the line, I just hope they bring a little moment of joy when people finally catch them. Design is so much richer when you care about the little things! ❤️

That moment when you stumble upon a random piece of art with a frame so stunning and dimensions so precise, it feels like it was practically custom-made for your space... 🎨✨

Naturally, the immediate dilemma hit: Do I replace the piece currently hanging on the wall, or do I just commit and go into full gallery wall mode?

Let’s be honest—it had to be the gallery wall. Where else was the original piece going to go? And more importantly, what about the growing stash of paintings and thrifted gems I’ve been collecting for months just waiting for their moment to shine? 🖼️

A few hammer taps, some carefully placed measuring tape, and zero regrets later: what an absolute transformation! Turns out, more is definitely more.

Can you see it?

Waking up to a sunny day from a restful sleep snuggled up in 100% cotton sheets, peering out the window and maybe treating yourself to a lazy start to the day?

Surely there's nothing wrong with that?

Looking for the ultimate local walk? You have to check out the iconic Digswell Viaduct! 🚂✨

It is an absolute masterpiece of Victorian engineering. Fun historic fact: when Queen Victoria opened it back in 1850, she took one look at its towering arches and flat-out refused to cross it! Standing underneath it today, you can totally see why—it is genuinely breathtaking.

Beyond the incredible history, it’s easily within walking distance and makes for the most peaceful stroll (and an absolute 10/10 dog walk) 🐶🐾.

Along the way, I was treated to the sweetest scenic surprises:
* 🐑 A field of super fluffy black sheep
* 🪿 A huge flock of Canada geese taking a break along the river, happily chilling in the cool shade

If you’re looking to stretch your legs, get some fresh air with your pup, and soak in a bit of British history, this spot is an absolute must-visit. 🌿☀️

From Drab to Fab: The Ultimate DIY Teacup Chandelier! ☕️✨

Let’s be honest: my previous light fitting was doing absolutely nothing for the room. It was uninspiring, bland, and practically begging for a retirement party. I knew I needed something special—something with character, history, and a serious touch of elegance.
So, I decided to make it myself. And the best part? Not a single piece of delicate porcelain had to be drilled!
Look at her now! 😍

🛠️ The Recipe for Magic:
*The Skeleton:** One unloved, dated chandelier scored for a bargain on Facebook Marketplace.
*The Soul: A gorgeous, perfectly matching set of vintage teacups and saucers from a charity shop (honestly, what are the odds?!).
*The Secret Ingredient: A generous helping of imagination, some clever assembly, and a vision to bring it all together.

Who says upcycling has to be chaotic? A matching vintage set brings the perfect balance of quirky charm and refined elegance as well as the addition of the ceiling rose.

Using a matching set gives the entire piece this quirky vibe—like a high-end boutique find rather than a DIY project. Plus, keeping the teacups entirely intact made the whole process a total breeze.

It’s proof that with a little creativity, you can turn forgotten treasures into the crown jewel of your home.

What do you think of this elegant glow-up? 👇
