Good news for Dorset Buy to Let Investors.

George Osborne's budget finally clarifies that the 3% additional stamp duty will apply to second (or more) properties that are bought by individuals and companies alike.

Given the forecast growth rate of 5% in house prices this year throughout Dorset, it could take just seven months to get this tax back! A simplistic response perhaps, but if you want a more in depth overview, call and make an appointment to see one of our tax advisers.

It's fair enough to draw on averages regarding the valuation of farmland, which has seen prices for Arable and Grassland alike rise from around £2750.00 per acre in 2006, to somewhere in the region of £8000.00 today, however, variations in the value of the land in question, especially commercial arable land exist, and should be taken note of. Some are considerable and not merely confined to one geographical region or another. Differences in value of up to £7000.00 per acre can occur between counties and incredibly, even from one parish to another! Thinking of selling a farm or an estate? Why not give us a call?

Apart from the Daily Mail like hysteria of this article (which is actually quite interesting) the photo below does go someway to explaining why I am ever more in favor of banning For Sale or To Let boards.They have outlived their usefulness and are a blot on the landscape.
